Weiser, ID. Festivities

Our camping neighbors for a couple of days on the playground of Pioneer Elementary School, serious astronomers. The biggest house ( that we saw) in Weiser and a bit of the Eclipse Festivities. The population of the town is @ 4,000. The weekend of the Eclipse Festival it easily doubled, which made for an interesting exit from town!

Petrified From the Cockpit

Driving by the Petrified Forest in Arizona. Not sure what the giant dinosaur replica has to do with the forest. Perhaps it is just a marketing tool to catch the eye of the passerby? Seems a little Kitschy to me.

The Chase

These images were taken from the cockpit going 60+ mph, so not the best quality. What I saw was dinosaurs chasing a vehicle along Route 66. We were driving on I-40, which you can see runs really close to the old 66. I believe this was near the Petrified Forest Park, which is northern Arizona, Apache and Navajo land.
