A couple of images, one from Oklahoma and one from Texas, near the border of Ok.

Hidden and Abandoned

Abandoned houses along Route 66. Taken from the cockpit of the Mothership you can see the old Route 66 in the foreground. This section of 66 is dirt and not really maintained so only drivable for those without back issues or perhaps in a vehicle that has a very cushy ride.

Erick, OK.

32-img_1324Next to Texola, on Route 66, is the small town of Erick, OK.  We were traveling westward along Route 66 so I think Erick is just east of Texola, OK. This shot was taken from the cockpit of the Mothership, moving, on a Samsung point and shoot camera.

PS: I will be in NYC/Brooklyn from the 21st to the 30th. This is a non-Mothership trip to visit our son and family. I won’t have access to the trip images I took this summer, so not sure what I may post or if I will. Bear with me as I still have many images to share from the  voyage. Thanks!

Texola, OK: Last Look

One last look at Texola, OK. on Route 66. The next town along Route 66 is nearly deserted as Texola. You can see the Mothership parked in the background.

I thought I was doing a good job of putting images in folders in chronological order, but it seems not to be the case. My one complaint about Apple products is that there is a lack of storage space on their devices. So, I have to constantly move images from the hard drive to an external drive. I have three of those drives at the moment plus a dozen thumb drives for other purposes I have convinced myself are necessary. I think it comes down to an inherent lack of space and my mild case of paranoia about losing images.

Anyway,

Texola Redux

A few more images from Texola, OK. Nature definitely has a way of reclaiming space. If you click on the image of the Mechanic sign you will see a guy walking between the buildings. This guy was the only living being we saw. I think he lives in the trailer next to the abandoned building.
